I’ve started putting up games and teaching materials for English teachers on my TESL/TESOL game site. I’ve been updating it with games, activities, and teaching materials that I’ve found success (and enjoyed) using in my classes.
Updates there come much more frequently than they do there, so check it out if you’re a teacher.

To the people who came here from Google after searching for “which toothpaste isn’t poisoned by the chinese” and “what to do about antifreeze in my mouth”, I really hope you got the information you needed from some other website.

At the Changchun Foreign Language School my classroom was a listening lab. It was a difficult room to teach in since the kids all sat behind glass partitions and had computers to play on.
Anyway, as I learned to use the (all-in-Chinese) computer software, I spent lots of time listening to conversations that I wasn’t interested in, such as one about a student’s pet:
“I hear you have a cat like Garfield cat.”
“Yes, but it is not so nice.”
“No?”
“No. It is not so fat.”
“But it is still beautiful.”
“No, it is ugly. It wasn’t expensive, either.”
I also got to hear lots of discussions about body weight.
“Mary looks like a snowball.”
“James should have two chairs to sit on.”
“Jenny’s cheeks look like they have baozi in them”

From the “Pirated Software With National Pride” Dpt.
A boxed version of Windows costs around ¥10 on the street. I’ve yet to use a computer here that doesn’t keep popping up messages from Microsoft discussing the “Windows Genuine Advantage“.
